Introducing, Santa is coming to town

colourful greetings card featuring a retro style city scene with orange christmas tree and large blue word 'santa'

Santa is still coming to town, I hope. I kicked off our latest release yesterday in a small way, over on my Instagram. I know a lot of folks who are not feeling very crafty or Christmassy right now and I send my very best vibes and hugs to you. I gotta roll on ahead though since I have already bagged the stock and it’s all very seasonal, so please forgive me if you are in a headspace where new goodies are very much not on your mind.

Alternatively if you are looking for a little worldly distraction, then pull up a seat, pour the cocoa and let’s think about Christmas cards for a bit, you and I.

I made this trio the other day to help show off one of the new sets from the upcoming release, ‘Santa is coming to town‘. The set itself is a 4 by 8 inch sets and it packs a lot of punch. There are 22 stamps in total. Many of the elements in it work really well with our popular Mid Mod City stamp set released earlier this year.

These cards also feature a pop up frame design. I use my Silhouette cameo to make these and I love how much they add to a card. Free cut files for this pop up frame will be included as part of the cut file bundle that will come with the sets on release day.

At the moment, It’s looking like our release will be live on Wednesday night (13th Nov) , 8pm my time (I’m in UK), if there are any changes to that I will post here.

Miniature Santa, sleigh and reindeers fly high over the city which now boasts a central Christmas tree. Strong typography is a feature of all three of our new sets and there’s something very satisfying about stamping out huge Santa words in all colours. opportunities for glitter abound, and here my sleigh team dispense a trail of glittery magic on the city below. Making matching sets of cards is a favourite thing to do and this set of stamps really leans into that. Here are some more colourways. I went with a retro feel for this bunch, echoing the Mid Century modern feel of the City and Santa sets. The sentiment ‘Santa is coming to town’ is one I’ve been waiting for!

All of the cut out shapes will be free cut files available in the coordinating Cut file bundles that will come with the stamps. Cut files are delivered electronically so you will have time to prep some shapes before your stamps land!

These are going to look great in traditional colours also!

A simpler card can be stunning too and this Raspberry Christmas tree is one that I can see me cranking out in multiples. Very, very simple to make, I stamped the Christmas tree from the new set and then just masked it off – which is super simple given the straight sides – before over-stamping the city image from Mid Mod City on top in simple black ink, I love Versamark for this, so crisp.

A bottle of glue with a fine tip was used to run lines of glue in between the doodled design on the tree and then dropped some retro style glitter on top – the glitter is little strands, as opposed to the usual dot glitter. Instantly my tree looks like it’s wearing a garland of tinsel, it could not be simpler.

The simple sentiment at the bottom is in city typewriter style, which I thought blended well with the retro image and the word ‘Magical’ is picked out in Raspberry ink – it matches the Santa font.

Imagine a batch of these in a rainbow of colours! I’ll be posting samples from now until Wednesday, feel free to pop back and bring friends. I have quite a few things to show you! Ta for popping in!
